Historic site museum display.

SouthArc has created exhibits on careers in archaeology, African-American archaeology, and the archaeology of Alachua County for local public schools.  We have a long-term commitment to an Alachua County elementary school as part of the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education Program.  As part of this program, we regularly give talks on archaeology at local schools, have led school visits to archaeological projects, and have given tours of local historic properties.

Public outreach is an important part of our commitment to build agreement between our clients, agencies and local communities.

Site interpretation and public education are central to preserving our heritage for future generations.  Archaeological investigations of historic and prehistoric people also helps us learn more about our past and contributes to the writing of history.

In addition to public services such as speaking a local schools, SouthArc offers a range of services and products that help our clients.  These services can include (but are not limited to):

· Training for identification and reporting of cultural resources.

· Walking tour guides, posters, pamphlets and other visual media for education or historic tourism.

· Development of displays.

· Lectures and presentations on regional and topical  issues related to archaeology, history and architecture.
