Mr. Dickinson has extensive experience in coordination, management, and implementation of all phases of cultural resource management in the southeastern U.S. He has served as principal investigator for projects in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Antigua WI and Ascension Island. These projects have included regional surveys, studies of urban areas, historic land use studies, development of management plans, mitigation studies, preservation, and interpretation of sites. Mr. Dickinson has developed expertise in interpretation of aerial photography and development of site location models. He also has training in architectural history which supplements his archaeological experience.
Mr. Dickinson is familiar with state and federal requirements for archaeological studies, as evidenced by his participation as principal investigator for the Historic Preservation Plan for the U.S. Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and for the U. S. Air Force at Antigua, WI and Ascension Island. He has participated in both the federal Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Florida Development of Regional Impact (DRI) processes, as well as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting projects.
Mr. Dickinson also has experience in heritage tourism, providing guided tours of archaeological, historical and natural sites, and was co-manager for three years of the Historic Haile Homestead, a restored 1855-56 plantation home. He currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Homestead.
